PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new fusion protein excellent in stability, useful for producing an antibody for diagnosing infection with Chlamydia pneumoniae, by bonding a polypeptide of a specific amino acid sequence to a peptide containing a plural number of continuous histidines. SOLUTION: This fusion protein is a new histidine tag Chlamydia pneumoniae polypeptide fusion protein obtained by bonding a polypeptide containing a sequence composed of at least five continuous amino acids in a peptide of the formula directly or through an amino acid sequence to a peptide containing at least 6 continuous histidines, stably maintains antigenicity as a Chlamydia pneumoniae antibody, is readily purified and is useful as an antigen for producing an antibody for a diagnostic for infection with Chlamydia pneumoniae. The fusion protein is obtained by infecting an insect with a baculovirus integrated with a histidine tag Chlamydia pneumoniae antigen fusion protein and expressing the gene in cells of the insect. |
