PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling hybrid electric vehicle, which is capable of ensuring electric power for drive by minimizing the limit of electric power supplied to a driving electric motor, even when the charging and discharging of a battery is restrained. SOLUTION: This is a controlling device for a so-called series hybrid electric vehicle provided with a means, which detects the residual capacity of a battery (a control unit 15 of the battery), a means which calculates the rate of the change with respect time of the residual capacity of the battery (part of a control unit 17) and a controlling means, capable of controlling the volume of electric power generated by a generating means, in response to the calculated rate of the change with respect to time of the residual capacity (part of the control unit 17). The control of the generated energy in response to the rate of the hourly change of the residual capacity under the restrained state of the charging and discharging of the battery enables performing optimum control and thereby to minimize the limit of electric power supplied to a drive electric motor. |
