PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a serum having a metastasis-controlling action and useful as a metastasis-controlling agent by administering a specific compound to an animal and subsequently collecting blood from the animal. SOLUTION: This serum is obtained by forcibly orally administering a compound of the formula (R<1> is a 1-6C alkyl; R<2> is a 1-10C alkyl, a 3-7C cycloalkyl, etc.; A is CH2 CH2 , CH=CH, etc.; X is O, NH) to a mammalian at a daily dose of 0.0001-80mg/kg everyday for 6-60 days, collecting blood from the mammalian 24hr later after the final administration, subjecting the blood to a centrifugal treatment, and subsequently collecting the serum from the supernatant. A fraction having a mol.wt. of 10000-50000 in the serum has the metastasis- controlling action and is useful, but the active ingredient is unstable to heat and is inactivated, when heated at a temperature of >=60 deg.C for 30min. A metastasis-controlling agent containing the serum as an active ingredient is used by an oral administration method, etc. |
