<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling thickness of a material to be rolled by which thickness deviation due to the irregularity of deformation resistance of the coil of a base material is reduced and device which is used for the execution. SOLUTION: With a frequency analyzer 5, the inlet-side thickness deviationΔH(t), outlet-side thickness deviationΔh(t), inlet-side speed V and outlet-side speed (v) are fetched and, after making positions on the time axis of the inlet- side thickness deviationΔH(t) and outlet-side thickness deviationΔh(t) coincide, by executing Fourier transform, spectra SH(ω), Sh (ω) and phases PH(#), Ph (ω) to a frequencyωare calculated. With a gain computing element 6, the frequencyωH of the irregularity of deformation resistance on the inlet side and frequencyωh of the irregularity of deformation resistance on the outlet side are calculated based on the diameter of the coil and, when it is judged that the irregularity of deformation resistance affects on the outlet-side thickness deviationΔh(t) greatly, corrected gain Ga correcting gain G is calculated to cancel the influence and imparted to a screw-down location manipulated variable computing element 7.</p> |
