PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the high torque of a latent image carrier and a developer carrier while preventing leak between the latent image carrier and the developer carrier by regulating a gap between the latent image carrying layer of the latent image carrier and the developer carrier. SOLUTION: In this image forming device using the latent image carrier 1 where the latent image carrying layer 1a is formed only at a spot corresponding to a latent image forming area on a conductive base substance; a gap holding member 3 intervenes between the non latent image carrying layer 1b of the carrier 1 and the developer carrier 2. At such a time, a gap main body part 3a holds the gap (g) between the layer 1a of the carrier 1 and the carrier 2. On the one hand, a projecting part 3b insulates between the layer 1b at the end of the carrier 1 and the carrier 2. On the other hand, a thin part 3c is extended to a position facing to the layer 1a and insulates between the inward part of the layer 1b in the axial direction of the carrier 1 and the carrier 2, and further its facing area to the carrier 1 is reduced and its frictional resistance with the carrier 2 is reduced. |
