PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porcelain compsn. for high frequencies which can be calcined at 800 to 1,000 deg.C and has high relative dielectric const., low dielectric loss tangent and high strength in a high frequency region over 30GHz. SOLUTION: The compsn. is prepared by adding 0.1 to 20 pts.wt. of ZrO2 to 100 pts.wt. of the main component which consists of 80 to 99.95wt.% multiple oxides containing at least Zn and Ti satisfying the atomic ratio of metals expressed by Zn.xTi [wherein (x) satisfies 0.3<=x<=8] and 0.01 to 10wt.% B2 O3 or 0.05 to 20wt.% glass containing SiO2 and B2 O3 . After the compsn. is formed, the formed body is calcined at 800 to 1,000 deg.C to obtain a dielectric porcelain having >15 dielectric const., <=20×10<-4> dielectric loss tangent at 30 to 60GHz, and >=250MPa strength. The obtd. porcelain has such a structure that ZrO2 crystal phase is dispersed in the inside and/or interfaces of grains of a spinel crystal phase 1, and moreover, the porcelain contains an ilmenite crystal phase, TiO2 crystal phase, ZnO crystal phase, etc. |
