PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor capable of outputting read image signals to which the respective kinds of correction are executed by providing a correction circuit for correcting the read image signals from many photoelectric conversion elements. SOLUTION: A sensor circuit 1, a light emitting circuit 2 and the correction circuit 3 are provided on a head board. The sensor circuit 1 is provided with the 18 pieces, for instance, of image sensor chips and serially outputs analog read image signals from the 96 pieces of phototransistors as the photoelectric conversion elements incorporated in the respective image sensor chips. The light emitting circuit 2 is provided with plural LED chips for which the LEDs of the three colors of red, green and blue are integrated and successively irradiates an original with the respective colors of red, green and blue. Then, the correction circuit 3 is realized by one integrated circuit chip, executes darkness correction, lightness correction andγcorrection to the analog read image signals from the sensor circuit 1 and outputs them to the outside of this image sensor 20 as digital read image signals.
