PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device provided with a thermal fixing roll capable of obtaining high releasing performance and excellent image quality and reduced in deterioration due to wearing by friction. SOLUTION: In this fixing device provided with the thermal fixing roll, a heater for warming up the surface of the thermal fixing roll and a pressure member arranged to press the thermal fixing roll, this thermal fixing roll is one whose heat-resistant elastic layer formed on a cylindrical core metal is covered with a fluororesin tube having a thickness of 5μm-20μm and the distortion of the thermal fixing roll generated by the pressing of the pressure member is >=0.5%.
