PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition which is excellent in the effect of glossing hair and possesses the stabilized emulsion system by mixing a specific betain type surfactant, specific glycerides and water-insoluble oil-insoluble powder and setting up the mixture to a specific viscosity. SOLUTION: This cosmetic material composition for hair which shows viscosity (30 deg.C) of more than 2,000cp and external appearance of a translucent or white emulsified compound and possesses an average grain size of 0.5-200μm in the diluted emulsion is obtained by mixing (A) 1-30wt.% of a betain type surfactant of formula I and II (R<1> is a hydrocarbon consisting of 7-19 carbon atoms; R<2> is a hydrocarbon consisting of 8-20 carbon atoms; (p) and (q) are each 1-4), (B) 0.5-20wt.% of glycerides containing a compound of (i) formula III either X<1> or X<2> is OH and another is -Y<2> -R<4> [Y<2> is O and -O-C(=O)-; R<4> is a hydrocarbon consisting of 8-22 carbon atoms]} and a compound of (ii) formula IV (X<3> and X<4> are each X<1> and X<2> ; Y<1> is Y<2> ; R<3> is R<4> ) in a weight ratio of i:ii=100:0-30:70 and (C) 0.01-5wt.% of water-insoluble oil-insoluble powder.
