PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the rise of the potential of a toner and to prevent the stain of a recording medium by increasing the degree of chemical crosslinking of a rubber matrix. SOLUTION: In a developing roll consisting of a rubber matrix and silicon balls, the degree of chemical crosslinking of the rubber matrix is increased or the weight ratio between the silicon balls and the rubber matrix is regulated to about 110:100. By the increase of the degree of chemical crosslinking, polymers are liable to bond to each other, the coefft. of friction of the developing roll with a toner is reduced and the rise of the potential of the toner can be suppressed. The rise means that in the negative direction because the toner is negatively charged. Since the potential of the toner does not rise at low temp. and humidity, the stain of a recording medium can be prevented. |
