PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid dynamic pressure bearing that can appropriately hold the quantity of liquid filled in a gap between a shaft and a sleeve. SOLUTION: When oil L filled in a gap G decreases with the lapse of time to lower the oil level, oil L stored in a storage part is moved to an outflow part 32 through a communicating passage 34 by a capillary phenomenon, and the oil level in the gap G rises and stops. The liquid quantity in the gap G can therefore be held automatically to the appropriate quantity even though oil is evaporated. When a shaft 36 starts rotating, dynamic pressure is generated by a dynamic pressure generating groove 38 so as to generate flow of concentrating oil L on the dynamic pressure generating groove 38, and movement of oil L from the storage part 30 to the outflow part 32 is accelerated so as to obtain sufficient rigidity of the shaft 36. |
