PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a speedometer to indicate an accurate speed by regulating the rotary angle of a needle by a stopper so that it stops at a zero point and returning the needle to the zero point when a switch for emergency engine stop changes between off and on. SOLUTION: A stepping motor 14 is driven by a pulse signal from a drive circuit 15 and a needle 10 is rotated, and a control circuit 16 controls the drive circuit 15 with a speed signal from a speed sensor 17. A kill switch 18 breaks the supply of power to an ignition system even if an ignition switch 19 is on and stops an engine. The control circuit 16 outputs a zero point return signal when the kill switch 18 changes from off to on, the needle 10 rotates in backward direction and presses an indication part 12 to a stopper pin 13 for returning to a zero point. Therefore, even if, for example, a motorcycle falls down and a drive turns off the kill switch 18 and stops the engine, the driver needs to turn on the kill switch 18 to start the engine again, thus returning the needle 10 to the zero point. |
