摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated circuit device having improved overvoltage protective circuit. SOLUTION: Special rails 102 are provided along each end of an integrated circuit chip, and a bias circuit B is connected to the end. The circuit B charges the rail 102 to a VDD voltage level during normal operating period, and when an overvoltage event occurs, it clamps the rail 102 to a VSS rail. Input bonding pads are provided along ends of the chip and connected to the rail 102 via a diode. Accordingly, 5V signal applied to the pad does not damage a device in the case of operating from 3.3V supply voltage. A signal line 150 having a length extended between the pads and a receiver 116 is provided to form a high frequency inductor to protect the receiver 116 in starting overvoltage event before the clamping operation becomes effective.
