SUBSTANCE: acetophenone is hydrogenated on copper- chromium-barium catalyst at 165 C and pressure 35 atm in presence of stabilizing additive hexenal taken in amount 0.01-0.5% based on weight of acetophenone. According to invention, hexenal source is used constituting styrene-containing waste from the process of combined hydroperoxide-mediated production of propylene oxide and styrene.
