FIELD: manufacture of synthetic varnishes and enamels. SUBSTANCE: film-forming petroleum polymeric resin is prepared by copolymerization of unsaturated hydrocarbons containing C<SB>8</SB>-C<SB>9</SB> fractions, C<SB>5</SB> petroleum product pyrolysis fraction on the presence of catalyst system comprising TiCl<SB>4</SB>,, promoting additive and 2nd stage hydrocarbon solvent. Calculated amount of TiCl<SB>4</SB> is fed to 1st stage, and monomer containing fractions and promoting additive (which includes mixture of lower carbonyl compound with water are fed in portions to both stages. TiCl<SB>4</SB> to promoting additive weight ratio is maintained at 18-26: 1 at stage and 17-24:2 at 2nd stage, C<SB>5</SB> fraction containing piperylene and tertamylenes being used in amount of 1.0-7.5% by weight of monomers at 1 st stage. Catalyst is deactivated with propylene oxide, and light carbohydrates are distilled. EFFECT: lower manufacturing cost and improved properties of coating. 1 dwg, 18 ex, 2 tbld |
