FIELD: organic chemistry, agriculture. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new biologically active chemical compound that activates germination of agriculture crop seeds, in part, rice and sunflower. Product: 6-methyl-3,4-dioxo-1-(4-methoxy- -benzylidene)-furo-[3,4-c] -pyridine, empirical formula is C<SB>16</SB>H<SB>13</SB>NO<SB>4</SB>,. The yield is 80%, decomposition point is 318-320 C. Reagent 1: 6-methyl-3,4-dioxo-1(H)-furo-[3,4-c]-pyridine. Reagent 2: anise aldehyde. Reaction conditions: in the presence of piperidine, in medium of boiling C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>5</SB>OH for 5 h.
