FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to benzimidazole derivatives, in part, 2-(cyclohexene-4-yl)-benzimidazole. Synthesis of 2-(cyclohexene-4-yl)-benzimidazole is carried out by interaction of o-phenylenediamine and 1,2,5,6-tetrahydrobenzoic acid at 175-180 C under condition of water distilling off. The yield is 89%, m. p. is 253-254 C, empirical formula is CHN. Protection degree from corrosion at concentration of 2-(cyclohexene-4-yl)-benzimidazole 0.3 g/l is 92.2%.
