PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display characteristics by scattering light passing over the top surface of a substrate corresponding to the bottom part of a channel of PALC(plasma address liquid crystal). SOLUTION: For this manufacture, a substrate 40 is provided which has a top and a reverse surface and is made of a hard transparent material, a layer 44 of a conductive material is formed on the top surface of the substrate, and a layer 46 of an insulating material is formed on the layer of the conductive material; and the layer of the insulating material is removed according to a specific spatial pattern to expose specific parts of the layer of the conductive material. Then the exposed parts of the conductive material are etched away until the top surface of the substrate is exposed. |
