<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing process for toner particles superior in granularity at the time of phase shift emulsifying and to provide the toner particle powder good in hot offset resistance. SOLUTION: The encapsulated toner is manufactured by forming a mixture composed essentially of a resin having one, or above one in average, cross- linking functional group and to be made dispersible into water for itself by neutralization and its cross-linking agent and a colorant and an organic solvent, and emulsifying the mixture in the presence of a neutralizing agent into an aqueous medium with the phase transferred and producing the autodispersed resin particles with the colorant encapsulated in them and then, cross-linking a part of the resin particles to form a binder resin, and separating them from the liquid medium and drying them. As the autodispersible resin, >=2 kinds of additionally polymerizable monomers different from each other in the glass transition point of its homopolymer are used by polymerizing one of the monomers and then, polymerizing the rest of the monomers.</p> |
