PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate no loss of laser energy in the non-pumping area for laser gain medium by making a transmission area to be held by a holding means for gain module or to be operated together with a sealing means for cooling material. SOLUTION: A laser gain medium is provided with a pumping area 32 and first and second contact areas 34 and 36, and further it is provided with a gain layer 30 for generating laser radiation with laser wavelength in response to the pumping radiation pulse of the pumping area 32, a first transmission layer 38 which is optically connected with the first contact area 34 of the gain layer 30 through diffusion bonding, and a second transmission layer 40 which is optically connected with the second contact area 36 through diffusion bonding. The layers 38 and 40 transmit a laser wavelength and reduce the absorption of laser radiation. The transmission areas 38 and 40 may be formed in size enough to be held by a holding means or to be operated together with a sealing means for cooling material. Therefore, the pumping area 32 of the gain layer 30 is hardly blocked and an non-pumping area with any loss can be prevented from formation. |
