PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multisystem TV which can view the NTSC(National Television System committees, DBS(direct bondcasting sotellite) and HDTV(high definition TV) broadcasts and also can serve as a PC monitor function by decoding a DBS signal received from the DBS broadcast and a HD signal received from an HD broadcast and converting the signal corresponding to a viewing mode into a display type that has been set previously. SOLUTION: In a DBS broadcast reception mode, the DBS signal received from a DBS broadcast is inputted to an HD/DBS tuner 231 and decoded by a DBS decoder 232. The decided DBS signal is converted into a display format by a format converter 236 and under the control of a microcomputer 246. Then the primary color signals R, G and B and the horizontal and vertical synchronization signals H and V are applied to a switching part 204. Consequently, the direct analog processing is possible without using separate satellite broadcast receiver nor converting the digital DBS into an analog NTSC signal standard as in the conventional case. Therefore, the characteristic of the DBS signal does not deteriorate. |
