PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use only low-frequency electronic components even for transmission with capacity of hundrends of Gbit/s. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a loop type linear mirror (NOLM) 3 to receive a soliton signal and it is modulated with a control signal. This device is provided with a control signal generating device 5 and the control signal is generated by interference between two light sources 11 and 12. Then the frequency of at least one of the two light sources is made variable, and servocontrol is performed with, for example, the power of the modulated soliton signal or by using an optical phase-locked loop. Thus, only low-frequency electronic components are used to regenerate a soliton signal at an ultra high data rate.
