PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unsintered type cadmium anode having improved active material use efficiency by forming a uniform conductive network in the electrode plate. SOLUTION: A cadmium oxide powder or a cadmium hydroxide powder is used as an anode active material for an unsintered type cadmium anode and as a conductive agent for the unsintered type cadmium anode, 0.15-1.50wt.% of carbon fibers with 0.5-1.3mm fiber length is added to the anode active material. By specifying the fiber length and the addition amount of the carbon fibers in this way, charging and discharging can be carried out not only in the peripheral parts of the carbon fibers but also the periphery of the surface of the anode plate, so that charging and discharging can uniformly be carried out in the whole region of the anode plate and the use efficiency of the anode active material is remarkably improved. |
