PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer suitable for preventing an electronic controller from being turned into an idle article due to the change of control data. SOLUTION: An EPROM 6 in a plastic packaged microcomputer 2 is provided with three bank memories 21-23 being areas for storing control data, and a bank information writing area 24 for storing information for specifying the bank memory(the latest bank) in which the latest control data are written among them. Then, the microcomputer 2 applies a chip select signal to the bank memories 21-23 so that access can be performed to the latest bank based on the information in the area 24 in a normal time, and writes new control data from an outside in the bank memory in which data are not written, and updates the information in the area 24 at the time of receiving a writing command from the outside. Thus, it is possible to facilitate a counter measure to the change of the control data by writing the new control data in the empty bank memory. |
