PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmitting body to simultaneously satisfy a short conjugate length, brightness and low chromatic aberration by containing a light absorbent to absorb only the light of a spacific wave length area among visible radiation and near infrared radiation areas, in an outer peripheral part of a refractive index distributed light transmitting body. SOLUTION: A layer 2 containing a light absorbent to absorb only the light of a specific wave length area among visible radiation and near infrared radiation areas, is formed in an outer peripheral part of a refractive index distributed light transmitting body of a circular cross section having a radius (r). It is desirable that at least a part of the specific wave length area is set to a visible radiation area having a wave length of 400 to 500nm or a wave length of 600 to 700nm. It is desirable that extent of an area containing the light absorbent exists on the radial directional inside containing at least R (0.8r<=R<=r), and is also desirable that it falls within a range of at least 0.75r to R.
