<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of an image forming means whose use frequency is low by reducing power consumption, to improve the quality of a formed image by surely preventing unused color toner from being stuck to a medium as a stain and further, to prolong the exchange life of a carrying means by reducing stress on the carrying means, in an image forming device. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with the carrying means for carrying the mediums, the image forming means 1(1-1-1-n) for transferring toner images onto the mediums carried by the carrying means and contact/ uncontact means 2(2-1-2-n) for moving at least one of the carrying means and the image forming means to contact positions where the carrying means and the image forming means come into contact with each other and separation positions where they are separated from each other. The contact/uncontact means 2 are constituted so that at least one of the carrying means and the image forming means is moved to the contact and/or separation position in a state where the carrying speed of the carrying means is almost equal to the transfer speeds of the image forming means 1.</p> |
