PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the silver halide photographic sensitive material containing a water-soluble bye causing extremely small stains after processing and fluctuation of sensitivity and no colored stains with the lapse of time by incorporating a specified compound. SOLUTION: This photographic sensitive material contains the compound represented by formula I or II in which each of R<1> and R<2> is a substituting having aΣπvalue of <1; each of R<3> and R<4> is a phenyl, alkyl, or alkyl group each having at least one sulfo or carboxy group; V is a haloalkyl, sulfamoyl, alkoxycarbamoyl, or heterocyclic group or the like; each of R<10> -R<20> is a H atom or a lower alkyl group and each of R<12> and R<14> , R<16> and R<17> , R<18> and R<19> may combine with each other to form a ring; and each of W<1> and W<2> is a group represented by V, or an alkyl, alkoxy, or acyl group or an H atom or the like, but both are not an H atom at the same time.
