<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost and light-wt. discharge lamp stabilizer (electromagnetic apparatus) which suppresses the temp. rise of the coil and can be made thin. SOLUTION: A discharge lamp stabilizer comprises a transformer 21 having a core 31 and a coil 32 combined therewith and a metal case 22 housing the transformer 21. The case 22 has an outwards extruding part 43 corresponding to a coil part 32a extruding from the core 31 of the coil 32 and a recess 46 formed round the extruding case part 43. The inner surface of the case part 43 is located near the surface of the protrudent coil part 32a and the inner surface of the recess 46 is located near the surface 31a of the core 31 from which the coil parts 32a extrudes. This increases the heat discharging area of the case 22 and improves the heat transfer from the transformer 21 to the case 22.</p> |
