<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the quantity of welding material used and suppress the increase in resistance of a conductor at a connection as much as possible by connecting the ends of two segments to weld corresponding layers of the two segments, each of which is divided into a plurality of layers, sequentially from the central layers to the outer layers. SOLUTION: Each of segments 11a, 11b is divided into three stranded wire layers. Both of the conductors are cut into divided layers in such a manner that the positions of three connections may be a little shifted from each other in the longitudinal direction of the conductors. (1) The central divided layers of both of the conductors are centered and butted against each other and then are girth-welded by gas welding with phosphor copper solder. Next, (2) the upper divided layers are girth-welded, with element wires of both of the upper divided layers being butted one by one, by gas welding with phosphor copper solder. Then, (3) the most external divided layers are girth-welded, with element wires of both of the most external divided layers being butted one by one as in the upper divided layers. By this connection method, the volume of the welded sections can be reduced, and therefore the quantity of welding material to be used can be lessened and the increase in resistance of the conductors at the connections can be suppressed as much as possible.</p> |
