PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the heat treatment method for support capable of preventing the support from easily getting into curing habbit by heat treatment in a short time and enhancing the planeness of the support by heat-treating the support while passing it through plural heat-treating zone and specifying each temperature range and each temperature difference of at least one set of the heating zones. SOLUTION: This heat treatment method for the thermoplastic support is carried out by conveying it through the 2-50 heat-treating zones controlled in a range of (Tg)-70 deg.C}∼(Tg), and in a heat difference of at least one set of the heat-treating zones to 0.5 deg.C-50 deg.C, preferably, 0.5 deg.C-30 deg.C, especially, 3.5 deg.C-20 deg.C, thus permitting the support to be made difficult to get into the curing habit by discontinuously changing the heat treatment temperature. If change of heat treatment temperature is smaller than this range this effect cannot by fully exhibited and on the other hand, if this range is exceeded, the plainness of the support is deteriorated accompanied by change of the size due to abrupt temperature change.
