PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device in which possibility of moisture intrusion through the end part of the electrode is eliminated by coating the end part of the electrode with resin. SOLUTION: Outer electrodes 3 are formed on the opposite end faces of a varistor element 1 comprising an alternate laminate of a ceramic sheet 1a and an inner electrode 2. The porous surface in the varistor element 1 is then coated with Si resin while filling the pores and an outer surface insulation layer 31 is formed to cover the inner surface insulation layer 30, the outer surface of the varistor element 1 and the end part of the outer electrode 3 thus completing a multilayer varistor.
