PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device, to reduce the cost, to improve the working efficiency, the working environment and the reproducibility of the flaw detection result by arranging a rubber cap of the contact medium to perform the acoustic coupling of a probe with an end face of an axle to be inspected on a front surface of the probe, and complementing the ultrasonic attenuation by the cap through the high sensitive flaw detection treatment. SOLUTION: A cap C formed of low hardness silicone rubber which is low in ultrasonic attenuation and excellent in durability is arranged on a front side of a probe 2, an end face of an axle 1 is closely attached to the probe 2 by removing the air in the space therebetween to propagate the ultrasonic wave. The reflection echo from the axle 1 attenuated by the cap C is received by an ultrasonic flaw detector 7, and amplified, and processed by a signal processing part 6 capable of processing the highly sensitive flaw detection such as pulse compressive wave processing so that the ratio S/N to the white noise is sufficiently secured. The ultrasonic energy is increased thereby, and the highly sensitive flaw detection becomes possible. |
