<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power system for an electrically heated catalyst, capable of supplying sufficient power at lower cost and by a smaller space, without increasing the size of an alternator or installing more alternators, when an alternator is used as a heating power source for an electrically heated catalyst. SOLUTION: A feedback voltage for controlling the generated voltage of an alternator 20 is input into a regulator 14 with its value lower than that of the case, when an electrically heated catalyst 5 is not being used, by feeding the feedback voltage back to the regulator 14 through a resistor R2 from the side of the electrically heated catalyst 5, when the electrically heating catalyst 5 is being used. Further, the number of revolution of an engine is increased up to a value, which enables the alternator 20 to supply sufficient power to the electrically heated catalyst 5.</p> |
