PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory address calculation device/method for both block scanning and raster scanning in which the hardware functions are integrated about memory addresses. SOLUTION: This memory address calculation device includes a horizontal counter 600 which successively increases its count value by a write signal, used for storing the image data into a memory or a read signal used for taking the image data out of the memory, a vertical counter 610 which successively increases its count value by a horizontal synchronization signal that is included in the image data, and an address exchanger 620 which calculates an address for the block or raster scanning, in response to a control signal and based on the horizontal and vertical count value. |
