<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain luminous intensity distribution pattern having excellent distant visibility by movingly displacing a lighting source back and forth from and up and down to the beam axis of a reflector. SOLUTION: The headlight for a vehicle is composed of a reflector 1 being divided into two parts, a upper reflector 2 being formed inner surface as a paraboloid of revolution reflecting surface with a focus F1 nearly at the center of the level surface, and a lower reflector 3 being formed inner surface as a rotation parabola reflecting surface with a focus F2, and a discharge lamp 4 attached as a light source G ahead of the reflector 1, and a light source driving mechanism is formed to change the light distribution pattern, sub beam and main beam, by moving the discharge lamp 4 back and forth and up and down, and when applying the sub beam the focus F1 of the upper reflector 2 and the focus F2 of the lower reflector 3 are sifted to the back and forth direction for putting the discharge lamp 4 between them on the light axis L1, and when applying the main beam the light source G is sifted to slightly downward of the light axis L1.</p> |
