The sheet metal support (1) is incorporated in a vehicle structure (4) such as a frame member of rectangular cross-section. The support incorporates flat surfaces (2a,3a) and a bearing plate (5) which surround a conical locating recess (6). The flat surfaces surround a supporting wall (8) whose contours match those of the bearing plate. The opposing mantle lines (9) related to the supporting wall, the locating recess and the tangential plane of these two skew lines, either parallel, or arranged in an open acute angle directed towards the structure. The support is fabricated in one piece and deep drawn.
