[Also in Division A4] In a knockdown container comprising six panels 2, co-operating panel edges engage in rebated mitre joints, Fig. 6, with the corners of the rebates being filled with interfitting projections 14 provided on each corner of the three relevant panels (Fig. 5). Each panel 2 has two opposed mitre edges 5 having a projecting ridge 6 and two opposed mitre edges 5a having a trough 8, 10. Each projection 14 comprises a triangular face 9 which lies in an extension of the plane of its associated joint surface 7, a triangular face 12 which is perpendicular to its associated ledge 10 and lies in a plane through which the extension of the mitre intersection ridge line 11 passes and a triangular face 13 which lies in the extension of the plane of the nearest mitre edge 5a. The panels 2 may comprise a moulded rigid synthetic resin shell 4, filled with foamed urethane or glass fibre 3, may be square or rectangular, may be provided with bevelled corners and edges and may include projections or recesses which function as skids or supports. The panels may be held together when assembled by various means including straps. |
