A tractor-drawn forced air spreader for spreading particulate material comprises a wheeled frame 3 on which is mounted a hopper 4 feeding to two series of rotary proportioning devices 15 mounted one on each side of the hopper and each device having an outlet 14 which feeds into the airflow in the neck of a corresponding venturi 13, a fan blower 9 (Fig. 2, not shown) driven from the power take-off of the tractor feeds the two series of venturis, and tubes 17 of differentiated lengths carried by arms 5 pivotally attached to the frame 3, each tube having at one end a deflector 18 to guide the spread material and being connected at the other end to a venturi. The wheels 2 of the device are carried on axle 1 so as to have adjustable track and to drive the proportioning units 15 through a gearbox or other variable speed drive 20. The pivotal arms 5 are pivoted about vertical axes and have wheels 7 mounted at their extremities such that for transport the arms may be folded parallel to the traction direction. |
