A tool (8) for cutting up plastic foam blocks, especially of rigid foam, has a heat insulating handle (1), a blade (2) of heat conducting material and one or more guides (3) on at least one side. A blade heater is also claimed which has a slit shaped opening for holding the blade (2). A combination of the cutting tool (8)and heating arrangement is claimed. A guide rail for use with the tool (8) has a long guiding slot between two sliding faces to take a tool blade and a gripping bar for holding the guide rail at a desired position.
