Tempering inking unit of rotary printing machine

The tempering of an inking unit (3,4) involves the continuation of its cooling or heating during the stoppage of an associated printing machine. The inking unit is driven by at least one motor (21) during a stoppage while maintaining contact of the rubber-coated ink transport rollers (9,10) with the cooled or heated ink transport rollers (5-7) whose temperature is influenced by a tempering agent flowing through it. Coupling and uncoupling arrangements (46) separate the rotating sets of rollers from each other.
