The invention relates to a method for controlling a cylinder screen printing machine, according to which the printing cylinder (1) rotates at an essentially constant speed during the printing cycle. In an expanded version of this method, the printing material (3) is pressed against the printing cylinder (1) after each full rotation of said printing cylinder. A device for carrying out this method uses a printing cylinder (1), the circumference of which is greater than the length of the printing material (3) and the dimensions of which are chosen in such a way that one printing cycle corresponds exactly to a full rotation of the printing cylinder at an essentially constant speed of rotation of the said cylinder (1).
