Helical flow barrel preparation machine for stripping workpieces by barrelling

The machine has an outer stationary metallic drum, the inside surface of which is covered by a stripping material and the lower part is separated by a narrow air gap, open to the atmosphere, from the metallic wall. A freely rotating inner drum is situated in the base of the stationary drum. The entire inside surface (5) of the metallic outer drum (1) is blasted to provide a clean roughened surface for the attachment of the injected polyurethane stripping sheet (3) material. A bonding coating is applied to the inside of the outer drum except for the area required for the gap and the stripping material injected with a punch to form the inner surface of the stripper. When the polyurethane is set a gap of about 1 mm is created with the aid of a vacuum pump and pressure gauge attached to the opening (7). The rotating drum (12) has a gap S from the stripper and has a similar stripping coat (14).
