The cylinder head structure is for an internal combustion engine in which a bolt (5) passes through the cylinder head (8) and into the cylinder block (1). More than half of a thread sector (C) of this bolt is under the central sector (X) of the depth of the water jacket (4). Since this sector of the cylinder block is more rigid than the upper sector of it, a seal (9) can be uniformly tightened up. There may be a sleeve inside the cylinder bore, with the water jacket outside the sleeve.
