Root-pin system for destroyed teeth

The system is for front teeth, bicuspids and pre-molars with deeply destroyed crowns in the top and bottom jaws. The pin used is of shape to suit the respective tooth, having a head (1) of similar shape but smaller and forming a stump, on which easily-shaped material (12) of constant thickness is built up. The apical area (2) is in stepped cylindrical sections (6-9) for anchoring in the root, and which are accurately dimensioned to suit the individual tooth. The largest-diameter portion can be at the joint between the crown and the root, all wall portions beig designed for optimum load distribution and retention.
