Adhesive thermoplastic resin composition useful for production of handbags and purses

A highly adhesive thermoplastic compound resin is prepared by melting a mixture (I) of Evathene (RTM: ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer) and hydrogenated oil hydrocarbon resin in a ratio of 5:1 - 10:1 at 95-200 deg C followed by cooling at 30--15 deg C and extrusion of the solidified mixture as long strips that are cut into pieces and dried to form a solid granulate. Preferably the adhesive is suitable for bonding a fabric to a rubber and/or elastomeric material preferably a thin membrane consisting of an overlapping filament fabric, preferably of nylon, polyester, polypropylene fibre, polypropylene, Tetolon (RTM), Ryon (RTM). The rubber and/or elastomeric material is polyethylene, polypropylene or ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer. The mixture (I) is mixed with methyl ethyl ketone to form a liquid adhesive.
