The invention concerns an energy-supply chain for holding cables, hoses or the like, with a plurality of chain links which are interconnected in hinged manner and are formed by mutually parallel link plates (1) and transverse webs (2, 3) connecting the latter, the link plates (1) comprising lateral locking projections (7) which are directed towards the interior of the chain in order to hold correspondingly designed transverse webs (2, 3) or intermediate parts in a detachably locking manner. According to the invention, in order to increase the useful cross-section of the energy-supply chain in modular manner, at least some of the transverse webs (2, 3) are designed as preferably multipart stirrups which form on at least one side a widening of the chain cross-section delimited by the parallel upper and lower edges of the link plates (1). The width and/or height of the stirrups can be altered by means of adapters (11).
