Method of monitoring and quality control of machine parts

The method involves monitoring and providing quality control of moving and/or rotating machine parts esp. machine bearings and cogs e.g. roller bearing drives and machine guides. The method involves analysis of vibrations detected by at least one vibration sensor and analysed by an analysis logic circuit. Vibrations of the machine parts being monitored or areas of the machine around these parts are detected. A signal component leading to damage to the machine part or region within predetermined monitor frequency bands is analysed by comparison with stored threshold values. The monitor frequency bands are followed in dependence on the movement or rotation speed of the machine parts to higher or lower frequencies. Preferably the threshold values are modified in dependence on the speed and/or load and/or stress.
