Prodn. of a compsn. (I) with antibiotic activity from cow's milk (as described in the example up to the first washing step) and its use as antibiotic against bacterial flora and its use in food technology as fermentation substance and preservative is claimed. Also claimed are: (1) the prodn. of casein- alpha -s2-165-203 (II) by the process described in the example including all the steps (in which (I) is fractionated by HPLC in 3 stages), and (2) the prodn. of (II) by solid- or liq-phase synthesis.
