PARTICULATE DIACETAL COMPOSITION, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND POLYOLEFIN RESIN COMPOSITION AND MOLDING

A particulate diacetal composition comprising (a) a powder of a diacetal such as 1,3:2,4-bis-O-(benzylidene)-D-sorbitol or a nuclear substitution derivative thereof and (b) a binder, characterized in that it is prepared by stirring a mixture containing a powdery starting materials for the diacetal and a binder at a temperature which is not lower than the melting or softening point of the binder and is lower than the melting point of the diacetal and molding the resultant compound into particles, optionally further pulverizing the obtained particulate molding, and also in that each particle of the particulate diacetal composition is an agglomerate comprising diacetal particles bonded to one another with the binder, and the binder in the composition covers part or all of the surfaces of the diacetal particles or is adherent to part or all of the surfaces; a resin composition obtained from the particulate diacetal and a polyolefin resin; and a molding obtained from the resin composition.
