Glass or glass ceramic top (2) forms the cooking surface of a gas cooker with at least one gas radiant or atmospheric burner. The top is fastened in a frame (8) and is bent at the edge (2a), forming an opening (8a) acting as a guide for exhaust air (7) for radiant burners or for incoming air for atmospheric burners. No grid is bonded to the opening. The top can be bent upwards or downwards and preferably extends only over l part of one edge, centrally or apart from the centre. The bent edge may contain several circular recesses arranged in a line.
